The Estimator Role

​

As the Sakar Estimator, you'll take ownership of pricing and tendering for commercial carpentry packages across our active project pipeline. That means door sets, fire doors, frame sets, cladding, skirtings, flooring and sundry items, reading documents properly and building accurate, competitive submissions.

​

Day to day, you'll be:

• Reading and interpreting tender drawings, specifications and contract documents to produce detailed take-offs

• Pricing carpentry packages including door sets, fire doors, frame sets, cladding, skirtings, flooring and associated items

• Liaising with suppliers and our internal resource to establish material costs and lead times

• Compiling and submitting tender documentation to deadline

• Working closely with the Operations Manager and Project Manager throughout the tender process

• Building and maintaining a working knowledge of current market rates for materials and labour

• Identifying value opportunities and flagging scope risks before they become problems on site

The Project Coordinator Role

​

As the Sakar Project coordinator you'll manage the ordering and procurement side of active projects, keeping materials moving so our tradespeople can do their job without delays. This role sits at the centre of the operation, connecting the office, the site team, suppliers and the broader project team.

​

Day to day, you'll be:

• Facilitating the ordering and procurement of door sets, fire doors, frame sets, cladding, skirtings, flooring and sundry items

• Managing delivery schedules and coordinating with suppliers to keep lead times on track

• Working closely with our remote team members, Operations Manager, Managing Director and on-site tradespeople

• Maintaining accurate records of orders, deliveries and project documentation

• Monitoring procurement against programme milestones and flagging delays early

• Supporting the broader project team with coordination tasks as required

We're looking for applicants who​

​

Have a trade qualification or extensive career experience in commercial carpentry as the foundation. Product knowledge is the top priority for us across both these roles.

​

Beyond the trade, we're looking for someone who:

​

• Hold a Certificate III in Carpentry at minimum, with extensive commercial site experience

• Have a strong working knowledge of commercial carpentry products, including door hardware, fire door compliance, frame systems, cladding and floor finishes

• Can read and interpret technical drawings and specifications confidently

• Communicate clearly, follow through on commitments, and keep people informed

• Are organised, detail-oriented and comfortable managing multiple priorities

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and experience with estimating software or procurement systems is an advantage (flexible based on the applicant)

• Hold a current driver's licence
